এ ব্রোকেন ড্রিম' -নামের বইতে মি. সিনহা বর্ণনা করেছেন, বাংলাদেশের সংবিধানের ষোড়শ সংশোধনী বাতিলের রায়টিকে কেন্দ্র করে তার ওপর সরকারের সর্বোচ্চ মহল থেকে চাপ তৈরি করা হয়েছিল।

সংবিধানের ১৬শ সংশোধনী বাতিলের রায় পক্ষে নিতে সরকারের সর্বোচ্চ মহল থেকে চাপ তৈরি করা হয়েছিল বলে বিচারপতি সিনহা যে অভিযোগ করেছেন, তা নাকচ করে দিয়ে প্রধানমন্ত্রীর উপদেষ্টা এইচ. টি. ইমাম বিবিসিকে বলেন, বিচারপতি সিনহা নিজেই বিচারবিভাগ এবং সংসদের মধ্যে একটা সাংঘর্ষিক পরিবেশ সৃষ্টির চেষ্টা করেছিলেন।

এছাড়া সরকারের চাপে তাঁর দেশ ছাড়ার অভিযোগ নাকচ করেছেন আইনমন্ত্রী আনিসুল হক।

বিদেশে থাকা সাবেক প্রধান বিচারপতির বই এবং তাঁর বক্তব্য নিয়ে দেশে ব্যাপক আলোচনার সৃষ্টি হয়েছে।

আওয়ামী লীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক ওবায়দুল কাদের বৃহস্পতিবার ঢাকায় এক অনুষ্ঠানে সাংবাদিকদের প্রশ্নে বিচারপতি সিনহার বই লেখার বিষয়কে ক্ষমতা হারানোর জ্বালার সাথে তুলনা করেছেন।
